
Lee Wesley Gibson one of the oldest living Union Pacific Railcar Worker in the United States! At 100-years-old, Gibson stands tall and proud, knowing that he has made an impact on the Railroad industry. Gibson was one of many African American workers to serve people on the famous Pullman train cars. What makes Gibson so significant is that he is alive and well, (he is free of any illnesses, pills, or even eye glasses) one-hundred years later and that he managed to survive as a black man in the late thirties to the 1960s. Lee Gibson worked as a Pullman coach attendant for the Union Pacific Railroad. He did various tasks, such as help people with their luggage and accommodate passengers to make their trip more comfortable. While millions were out of work during the Great Depression, Gibson was steadily working, despite the racial tension some passengers would display towards him. Despite the dark times Gibson always had a positive adittude. This positive attitude is a testament to the long life he has lived.
